A wallet’s balance today does not answer what it held at an earlier block

Historical state queries and lists of past transactions are different evidence.

Attach a block to the balance question

If you need to understand a past payment situation, identify the network and relevant block or time reference. A current balance is a current state, not a record of what the account held before or after the transaction being discussed.

Ask what the data service actually returns

Ethereum’s archive-node documentation distinguishes historical account state from stored transaction history. A service may show old transactions without offering an immediate balance query for every past block. An unavailable historical response is not evidence that the old balance was zero.

Do not infer a complete investigation

coinscammercheck’s current coverage notice says it is not an all-chain, full-ledger scan. Do not claim historical-state reconstruction merely because a normal transaction list appears. Address data alone also does not establish the owner’s total assets or safety.
